This is my interview experience with Ericsson India. Ericsson came to our college (JIIT Noida) on 29th March 2016. It was two days process. On the first day they conducted the Presentation and Aptitude Test. Second day GD, Technical Interview along with HR interview was scheduled.
The selection procedure consisted of following parts:
- Aptitude Test
- GD
- Technical Interview
- HR Interview
Round-1: Aptitude Test
It was an online test which consisted of 45 questions and the time limit was only 45 minutes. So time management is very important. It included LR, Verbal and Quant. A few important topics are mentioned below:
LR- Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Linear Arrangement, Circular Arrangement, Letter Series, Graph Questions.
Verbal- Synonyms, Antonyms, Ordering of sentences, Spotting errors, Comprehension.
Quant- Area, Volume, Mixture, Profit and Loss, Partnerships, Percentage, Time and Work.
Preparation from R.S Agarwal, Arun Sharma, and solving some online tests would be enough.
Round-2: GD
Only 50% of the students got through aptitude test. In GD round we were divided in groups comprised of 7-8 students. Not many people were eliminated in this round. They were only checking for communication ability and confidence.
My topic was Women’s Safety. There were different topics for different groups. Some of them were E-marketing, Positive and Negative impacts of Social Media.
Round-3: Technical Interview
GD was followed by the technical interview. I entered the room and greeted the interviewer. He asked me to wait for a few minutes while he updated the last student’s review. In the meantime he asked me from where I was. Then he went through my CV. The first question he asked was about the four pillars of OOPS. I answered encapsulation, inheritance, abstraction and then I was blank. I told him that I am recalling the fourth name so he gave me some time. And then yes, I had and I told “polymorphism” with a little enthusiasm. He then asked me the platform on which Java runs. It was not that difficult because Java is platform independent. And after that he asked me whether stack pointer increases or decreases while pushing data in a Stack in C. It increases I answered. Then he asked me if I had knowledge of LINUX or UNIX. I answered in positive. He then asked me about the OSI layers and protocols. Then he asked me a question on microcontroller-8051. And then he asked about architecture of GSM. He then asked me about Bluetooth as it was patented by Ericsson. I knew that because I had listened to the presentation which was held before aptitude test. (yeah.. an advice – always listen carefully to the pre-placement presentation). And then a question on semiconductor – why base is thin and lightly doped. I was not very confident with my answer but it seemed right. And then he drew a circuit on a paper and asked me to solve for the current through zener diode. It was simple, I calculated correctly. It was 0 ampere because zener was working as open circuit in that. I was pretty confident by then about my interview going good. He lastly asked me if I had any questions for him. I asked and got the answer. Then he asked me to wait for the results.
Round-4: HR Interview
Yay!! This was the last round. I was feeling good. As soon as I entered in the room the HR asked my name and asked the field which I disliked the most. I didn’t get the question properly so she made herself more clear “a field you would never like to work”. I told her that I am open to all. She asked how and then I answered her with few examples. Now the next question was one weakness. I would like to advice you all to be specific and clear about it, because it can sometime lead you into problem. Then questions like why should we hire you and about job location restriction or any time constraints came up. I told her I have not any constraints related to the location and hours. She then asked me to wait for the result.
It was worth the wait. Result – Positive! I would like to tell you all to be prepared and have confidence. All the best 🙂
