LG Electronics Interview Question Bank continued from Part 1…
Q : What type of communication is used in USART?
A : USART (Universal Synchronous/Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) uses half duplex mode of communication.
Q : What do you mean by Finite Impulse Response filter?
A : FIR filter is a type of filter whose impulse response (i.e. response to a finite length signal like impulse signal) is of a finite duration as it settles to zero in finite time.
Q : Explain the effect of increasing load capacitance on delay.
A : By increasing load capacitance, delay increases.
Q : If we include a resistance at the output of a CMOS circuit, how does it affect delay of the circuit?
A : The (RC) delay increases by the above operation.
Q : What are the disadvantages of increasing the power supply to reduce delay?
A : The delay can be reduced by increasing the power supply but the heating effect comes in picture by increasing power supply and to compensate the excessive power, we have to increase the die size which is not practical.
Q : What is gateway?
A : Gateway is a piece of networking hardware that acts as an entry point to another network. It is used for interfacing with another network that uses different protocols.
Q : What is Charge Sharing? Explain the Charge Sharing problem while sampling data from a Bus?
A : In a serially connected NMOS logic the input capacitance of each gate shares the charge with the load capacitance by which the logical levels get drastically mismatched from the desired ones. This is charge sharing. In order to eliminate this, load capacitance must be very high compared to the input capacitance of the gates (approximately 10 times).
Q : Explain the difference between Moore and Mealy state models.
A : Two basic models of state machines are the Mealy and Moore models. In Moore model, the output of the state machine depends only on the state whereas in Mealy model, the output of the state machine depends on state as well as the inputs. Also, any Moore state machine can be converted to Mealy state machine but vice-versa is not true.
Hope this helps you in your preparation!
